Valparaiso – Regional Performing Arts Company, a local non-profit committed to promoting youth performance in the Region, announces open auditions for their September production of “Once Upon A Mattress.” This full-scale musical production tells “what really happened” in the story of the Princess and the Pea.
Casting requires a minimum of twenty-five actors, and all actors must be between the ages of nine and eighteen. The two act musical features a strong leading male and female, with nine ‘principal’ characters and countless other parts for students to thrive within. When preparing for the audition, students should be prepared to sing and participate in a small dance selection. Callbacks, should they be necessary, will have a reading component.
Auditions are being held July 8, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran School, 1700 Monticello Park Dr, Valparaiso. The audition window is 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and will be held on a rolling basis. Students will be auditioned and released on a first-come, first-served basis and dance with small groups. Visit regionalperformingarts.org/
Performances will be held September 14, 15, 21 and 22. Students unable to attend auditions but still wanting to act in the production, or those interested in backstage roles (sets, theater tech, etc.) should e-mail the production team at admin@regionalperformingarts.
