Summer Camp

RPAC is proud to offer a summer theatre camp for students of varied ages during the summer months. Class offerings include acting and stagecraft of many different types.

Where? Regional Performing Arts Center, Portage, IN
When? June 20 – August 4, 2023 (no camp the week of July 4)
Tuesdays & Thursdays: Acting Up 9-11, Make It or Break It 11-12:30, Musical Theater 1-3
There will be a 30 minute lunch break at 12:30 for students enrolled in multiple classes, lunch is not provided.

What kind of classes will be offered?

Each class will focus on a different aspect of theater with a different outcome at the end of the camp. Musical Theater will focus on auditioning, casting, and performing in a musical production. Acting Up focuses on the same process (auditioning, casting and performing) with the outcome of performing in a play. Make It or Break It is a technical class that will focus on the production aspects of sets, costumes/props, sound and lights. None of these classes require previous experience and are intended to help teach, nurture and grow young actors in the region.

What shows will the actors be performing this year?

What is the cost of camp?

Camp tuition is $175 and includes an average 12 hours of camping goodness, materials, a camp tee shirt, and participation in our productions which are free for family and friends to attend. Siblings and dual-enrollments (students participating in more than one section) receive a $25 discount. All families participating in summer camp will receive a complimentary 2023-2024 RPAC Family Membership. There are several need-based funding options available.

Does my child need to bring any supplies?

All scripts and crafting materials will be provided for students enrolled in classes that require extra materials at no additional cost. Your actor is encouraged to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
